Owning a motorcycle or bike is all about freedom, fun, and the open road. You can travel in style, alone or with a group of friends. But the motorcycle/bike itself is only half the story. Along with that, comes the clothing, the jacket, the helmet, tools, accessories, and, most importantly, the gadgets. There is such an interesting and exciting range of gadgets on the market at the moment. Some are nice to have; some are must-haves. Take a look at a few of my favorite gadgets available right now:
1. Sena SMH-10D-11 Bluetooth Headset and Intercom Set
Technology has come a long way. In the past, we would use hand signals to communicate with other riders, or simply pull over and talk. Not anymore. This tough, water-resistant device is completely hands-free. This allows you to talk to your passenger or fellow riders and even connect to your phone to make calls, listen to music, or use your navigation system.
2. Garmin Zumo 350LM GPS
Talking of navigation systems, you don’t get much better than this. Specifically designed for motorcycle/bike use, this GPS will mount securely to your ride. Using the touch screen operation with gloves is no issue at all. It is so advanced; it will even keep a log of your service history and advise you when maintenance is due.
3. BikeMaster Multi-Tool with Sockets
Every biker knows how vital their tool kit is and we also know how useful a multi-tool can be. Well, now you can have the best of both worlds, with the BikeMaster Muti-Tool designed for bikers. Sure, you will still need your normal tool kits but with a wrench, hex wrenches, and even sockets, this multi-tool will come in very handy for most jobs. It will save you time digging out the full tool kit and let you carry on with your journey in peace.
4. BikeMaster Tire and Tube Flat Repair Kit
One thing that will put a serious downer on your trip is a flat tire, and it happens. Well, don’t despair. This kit contains everything you need to get it sorted out super-fast and you will be back on the road in no time. It even comes with 4 small CO2 canisters to re-inflate your tire. This is one of the Bikers Basics. The compact design allows you to keep it close at all times. Problem solved.
5. GoPro Hero4 Camera
Capture those memories and keep them forever, share them with friends or post online. You never know what you might come across on your travels. You can easily and securely mount your GoPro on your helmet to take your own point of view or on the handlebars. If you love your gadgets, the GoPro will not disappoint, with a wide variety of accessories available. The Hero 4 will give you 1080p60 and 720p120 video as well as high-res 12 MP photos, at 30 frames per second. That’s quality!
6. Ogio No Drag Mach 3 Backpack
Riding with a normal backpack is never pleasant; you need something specifically designed for use on a motorcycle/bike. You can’t go wrong with the Ogio Mach 3. It has a tough, aerodynamic casing, reducing drag and protecting the contents. It has handy, protective compartments so you can easily store your laptop, mobile, tablets, and other gadgets. The 1125 capacity leaves plenty of room for other things you want to carry.
7. Cortech Dryver Tail Bag
You will need somewhere convenient to store all these gadgets so they are easy to get to when needed. The Cortech Dryver Tail Bag is the answer. It is easy to fit and compact, yet large enough for your wallet, phone, and other smaller items you want to keep in easy reach.
Well, that was just seven of the most exciting gadgets on the market at the moment. We could go on all day. They are all practical, useful, and well-made. Most importantly, they are designed with the biker in mind. All of them will make your ride's a lot more hassle-free and enjoyable.
Stay safe on the roads and happy riding!
